Thank you for visiting the Meadowood Neighborhood Association website.

The Meadowood Neighborhood Association was organized on July 11, 1958, with the purpose to "work for community betterment," and to "promote fellowship."

To this end, the Association works for the Meadowood Area by sponsoring activities for residents, civic involvement, and representing the area with the City of Madison and other entities to benefit Meadowood residents.

Our organization was originally called the "Meadowood Community Club" in 1957 by residents of the new Meadowood Neighborhood, which was then being built.

The group changed its name to the "Meadowood Community Association" in 1967 and has again updated the name to the "Meadowood Neighborhood Association

We invite you to contact us with any questions or comments regarding Meadowood Neighborhood Association or the website.

With nice weather just around the corner, it's time to slow down and watch out for kids and other pedestrians! Safe Communities invites neighbors and neighborhood associations to join the effort by posting "slow down" yard signs between April 16 - 25th during our annual Slow Down Yard Sign Campaign.

Meadowood Neighborhood Association plans to join the effort this year and is encouraging neighbors to post "Slow Down" signs on our busy streets.   Please contact Lisa Veldran at 271-0722 or email lveldran@yahoo.com to reserve a sign for pick up.

As part of this campaign, over 4,500 yard signs will pop up in yards across Dane and Jefferson Counties reminding motorists to “Slow Down, Watch for Kids.”

We all need to pay special attention when children and other pedestrians are present, because the faster vehicles travel, the more likely crashes are to occur and the more severe injuries will be. Children and older adults are especially vulnerable.  According to the National SAFE KIDS Campaign, pedestrian injuries are the second leading cause of unintentional injury-related death among children ages 5 to 14. Each year in the United States , nearly 900 children ages 14 and under die from pedestrian injuries and another 24,000 are injured in traffic-related crashes.

When child pedestrians are hit by cars, it's usually as they dart out between cars mid-block. Please drive slowly and be on the lookout for kids!

It was great to see so many MNA members at Vitense Golfland on Saturday, March 1, 2008.  We had 55 attendees – 29 adults and 26 kids!  Everyone enjoyed the free pizza and soda provided by the Meadowood Neighborhood Association. Many families enjoyed a round of mini-golf as well.  I expect a larger group next year!  Photos from this event will be on display at our July 4, 2008 Annual Picnic.

Wednesday, May 7th at 7pm
West Police District (conference room).

All are welcome, please join us.
